OLIVE GROWING IN OUR FAMILY
The olive trees are located in the territory of Kali, which is mostly a hill - covered area, and picking olives requires great effort and caution.
The cultivation of olives is carried out completely ecologically, and the picking is done by hand without any mechanization.
In the past, olive growing was very important because they traded with it, i.e. they exchanged it for meat, livestock, for clothes, shoes and other things they needed. Olive oil was valued like gold in the past. People were paying attention to every single drop. Our late grandmother used to be so careful when pouring it into smaller bottles, that she would smear the drops that would remain in the bowl on her hands, instead of accidentally wiping it off with a cloth.
Today, we also pay attention to every single drop of oil, because we are aware of how healthy it is, but also how much effort and trouble it takes to get every single drop.
